Professional Broadcast Solutions
AV-Cables manufactures professional RG-58 50-ohm BNC cable assemblies using Belden 9201 RG58/U coaxial cable for RF communications, test equipment, wireless systems and general-purpose 50-ohm signal applications.
Our Belden 9201 assemblies provide a flexible, dependable solution for professional 50-ohm equipment and are available in multiple lengths for rack, laboratory, communications and field applications.
Select the shortest cable length that comfortably reaches your equipment. Shorter RF cable runs generally provide lower signal loss, especially as operating frequency increases.
Ideal for equipment racks, benchtop instruments and closely positioned RF devices.
1.5–10 ftUseful for communications equipment, wireless systems and larger equipment racks.
15–35 ftAvailable when greater distance is required. Always consider frequency-dependent signal loss when selecting longer RF cable runs.
50–100 ftSelecting the correct impedance and cable construction is important. RG-58 and RG-223 are commonly used with 50-ohm RF equipment, while professional SDI video systems require 75-ohm coaxial cable.
| Cable Type | Impedance | Best For | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| RG-58 / Belden 9201 | 50 Ohm | General-purpose RF | Communications, wireless and test equipment |
| RG-223 | 50 Ohm | Enhanced shielding | Laboratory, RF and electrically noisy environments |
| SDI Coax | 75 Ohm | Professional digital video | Cameras, switchers, monitors and video routers |
RG-58 cable is intended for compatible 50-ohm RF and communications equipment. It should not be substituted for a 75-ohm BNC cable in professional SDI video systems. For cameras, switchers, monitors, converters and video routers, choose a 75-ohm SDI BNC cable.
Choose Belden 9201 RG-58 for general-purpose 50-ohm RF, communications and test-equipment connections where a flexible, professional coaxial cable is required.
Choose RG-223 when additional shielding is important. RG-223 uses dual braid shielding and is well suited to demanding RF, laboratory and electrically noisy environments.
AV-Cables also manufactures custom multi-channel 50-ohm BNC cable assemblies for RF racks, wireless systems, laboratories and professional installations.
Choose from RG-58 or RG-223 constructions with multiple individually shielded and identified BNC channels organized into a single professional cable loom.
RG-58 is a 50-ohm coaxial cable commonly used for RF, communications, wireless and test-equipment applications.
RG-58 should not be used as a replacement for the 75-ohm coaxial cable specified for professional SDI video systems.
Both are 50-ohm coaxial cable types, but RG-223 provides enhanced shielding with a dual-braid construction. RG-58 is an excellent choice for many general-purpose RF applications, while RG-223 is useful where additional EMI/RFI shielding is desirable.
Yes. Signal attenuation increases with cable length and frequency. Use the shortest practical cable and confirm the loss requirements of your RF system when working at higher frequencies or over longer distances.
AV-Cables manufactures custom RF cable assemblies for professional communications, wireless, laboratory and equipment-rack applications.
Custom lengths, RG-58, RG-223 and multi-channel configurations are available.
