How Multi-Channel Ethernet Snakes Work

Each channel is a separate point-to-point CAT6 Ethernet cable. The individual runs are grouped in protective braided sleeving to simplify routing, deployment, and storage; a multi-channel snake does not split one Ethernet cable between several devices. Standard multi-channel assemblies are offered in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12 channels, with common lengths of 25, 50, 100, 150, and 200 ft. Ask for a custom quote when you need a different layout or staggered breakouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one end have staggered leads and the other end have even leads?

Yes. Specify the lead length for each numbered channel at the staggered end and a common breakout length at the even end. Ask us about staggered layouts on both ends if your equipment requires them.

Are the staggered lengths fixed at 2 ft intervals?

No. The 2 ft steps in the product illustration are an example. We quote the exact lead lengths, trunk length, channel count, connectors, and labels for your project.

Can I order a custom staggered snake online?

What is the difference between RJ45 and EtherCON?

RJ45 plugs connect directly to standard Ethernet ports. EtherCON-style connectors add a protective locking shell for compatible equipment in production environments.
