What Is an HD-BNC Connector?

HD-BNC is a compact professional 75-ohm coaxial connector used on high-density video equipment. Its smaller footprint lets routers, switchers, monitors, and patch panels fit more video connections into limited panel space.

Check Both Connectors Before Ordering

HD-BNC, standard BNC, and DIN 1.0/2.3 are physically different connectors. Confirm the connector type and gender on both devices. If you need to connect an existing cable with a male BNC plug, select the HD-BNC to female BNC cable.

HD-BNC Cable FAQs

Is HD-BNC the same as standard BNC?

No. HD-BNC is smaller than standard BNC. The two connector types do not mate directly, so choose a cable with the appropriate connector on each end.

Can I use an HD-BNC cable for 12G-SDI?

Yes, when the complete assembly uses cable and connectors designed for 12G-SDI. Select one of the 12G-rated assemblies above for compatible 12G equipment.

Should I choose Belden 1855A, 4855R, or 4505R?

Choose 1855A for a compact 6G-SDI assembly. Choose 4855R for a compact 12G-SDI assembly. Choose 4505R when you prefer a larger full-size RG59 cable for a 12G connection.

Can AV-Cables build a custom configuration?

Yes. Custom lengths, connector combinations, matching cable sets, and production quantities are available.
